The Eastern PA Down Syndrome Center consults with specialists in the fields of medicine, education and behavioral and psychological supports, when appropriate for our families and patients. For example, many times a child or adult needs to have an eye exam or visit a cardiologist to be certain a potential disease or abnormality associated with Down syndrome is diagnosed and followed. The Center has developed a list of physicians/therapists we can count on that have both knowledge and experience in areas related to Down syndrome. Recommendations are made to professionals that we know have what it takes to deliver the best of care to our patients.
Our Physicians and Coordinators also consult with primary care physicians, office staff and service providers involved with the day-to-day care of our families and patients. Education and open-communication are areas we, at the Eastern PA Down Syndrome Center, strive to achieve in and out of our immediate area. The more educated care providers are concerning Down syndrome, the healthier and happier our patients will be. It is our goal that each one of our patients reaches his/her full potential in a lifetime. We’re here to help in any way we can.
